Hi, I’m Melinda.

I am a Mindfulness Practitioner and Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in private practice working with individuals 18+. My approach to therapy is both holistic and practical. I aim to work with you in an authentic and relatable way. I do this by listening to your concerns wholeheartedly and by addressing the issues most important to you. My practice is client-centered and strength-based which means I work with you to build on your existing strengths and skills.

Somatic and Polyvagal Informed Therapies


I maintain a special focus on rehabilitation in my practice. I have specific training in chronic pain and chronic stress management to support people going through challenging health events and those recovering from illness or injury. I also specialize working with anxiety, panic and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and have experience with stress, relationship issues and challenging life transitions. 


What Is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is talk-based therapy intended to help people improve and maintain their mental health and well-being. Registered Psychotherapists (RPs) are authorized to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy.

 

Psychotherapy occurs when the RP and a consenting client enter into a psychotherapeutic relationship, where they work together to bring forth positive change in the client’s thinking, feeling, behaviour and social functioning. Individuals usually seek psychotherapy when they have thoughts, feelings, moods and behaviours that are adversely affecting their day-to-day lives, relationships and their ability to enjoy life.
